Arrakeen Infinity Scarf
Arrakeen Infinity Scarf
Inspired by the imagery in the Dune series, this texture of this pattern reminds me of the rolling Dunes on planet Arrakis. Named for the main city Arrakeen, this scarf is both bold and comforting, just like the warm colour of the sand that surrounds it.
You will need:
Yarn: DK (3) weight, approximately 480 yds/439m. Sample was made with Knitcrate Vidalana Oasis in the colour Sahara (Alpaca and merino wool blend, 250 yds/229m, 100g per skein).
Hook: US H/5mm Tunisian crochet hook with short cord attached, or size needed to meet gauge (if using different weight yarn, size up or down accordingly)
Notions: measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle, blocking mat and pins (optional)
Instructions are written for one size, approximately 6.5”/17cm wide, 74”/188cm long (before sewing the short ends together to make it an infinity scarf). This pattern is very easy to customize for different weight yarns, and also to adjust the width and length. You can also leave it unseamed in a traditional long scarf shape.
The pattern includes detailed written instructions as well as links to tutorial videos where appropriate. You may sell finished items, all I ask is for credit to be given by linking back to the blog post or pattern listing.
This pattern is part of the Scarftober celebration happening for the month of October here on the Capital Crochet blog. It is a FREE pattern, or if you prefer to work from an ad-free pdf, you can pick that up in this listing and in my Ravelry shop as well.
Please make sure to share your makes on social media by tagging me @capital.crochet and using the hashtag #ArrakeenInfinityScarf, #CapitalCrochet and #Scarftober. I love seeing your colour choices and how you style your finished scarves!
Thank you so much for your support!
